Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This occasion offered a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
